We are the Wilding family. Ali and Blaine and our 5 children. We live on 7 acres outside of Firth, Idaho with the Snake River running just beyond our property. We cross the river bridge almost daily, which is where I came up with the name for our kennel, Over the River Goldens. We have several Goldens and a Doberman, who loves to help with the little pups. We have a few horses, sometimes cows, 2 cats and some chickens. We enjoy doing things as a family such as bowling, canoeing and kayaking, horse riding, going to rodeos, most anything we can do together. When the kids all come home, so do their dogs. Blaine is a pharmacist and I am a stay-at-home mom. I taught school for 6 years until our 2nd child was born. I am also a hobby photographer, which I use to full advantage taking photos of all our dogs and sweet pups and now beautiful grandchildren as well. Our oldest daughter, Jordyn is married with 3 children and lives in Utah with a golden of their own. Our 2nd child, Tyson, lives across the river a couple of miles away and has a Blue Heeler. He works on a cattle ranch and has joined us in our breeding business. Jace, our 3rd, lives with his wife, little family and 3 dogs and a cat in Missouri, while attending Vet school. He will be done in May and hopefully coming home to Idaho to start his career. We took a 10 year wait and then adopted our last 2 children as newborns. Keenan graduated from high school a year ago and is living on his own not too far away. Kamri is our last child and is a sophomore in high school.
We started our golden journey when Jace was about 18 months old. My sister’s son was selling goldens to earn money for his church mission. They had one puppy left and we decided to take him. After getting our sweet Dusty, our hearts were hooked. When my older boys were young teens, we began thinking about letting our boys earn money for their missions as well. This began our step into the breeding world. We added a couple of female goldens and began researching all we needed to know. The boys worked hard helping with the puppies and a few years later finished their missions and continued their grown up lives. Blaine and I took over the dogs when they left home and decided to continue the breeding program seeing that we still had 2 youngsters that still needed raising and whatever that was to bring about. We began building upon our breeding program and gaining knowledge from helpful breeders that were willing to share. So, here we are, close to 15 years and 17 Golden Retrievers later. We want to share our love for Goldens with others and are excited to bring happy and healthy puppies to many families.
